Mwagusi Safari Camp is located in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park, in the heart of the southern circuit. Founded in 1987, the camp is a testament to the passion and deep connection of its owner, Chris Fox, to the Tanzanian bush, its wildlife, and its people.
What began as a temporary fly-camp has evolved into a distinctive, well-established lodge with a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Over the years, Mwagusi has grown into a camp that stands out with its originality, featuring carefully designed elements that set it apart from others. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted, combining unique touches with a sense of personal care.
Built almost entirely from natural, organic materials, the camp offers guests an authentic, tented safari experience. Each en-suite tent is sheltered under a traditional thatched roof and nestled along the sandy banks of the Mwagusi River, providing a comfortable and immersive connection to the surrounding wilderness.
